Work culture significantly influences organisational efficiency, particularly in an environment where collaboration, professionalism, and effective communication drive productivity. This study examines how a tactful work culture, characterized by professionalism, adaptability, effective communication, mutual respect, teamwork, and conflict resolution, affects efficiency in selected organisations within Edo State, Nigeria. Using a comparative analysis of public and private organisations, the study explores how structured and flexible work cultures contribute to operational effectiveness. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, utilizing surveys and interviews to gather data from employees and management across various sectors. Findings highlighted the benefits of a tactful work culture in fostering employee engagement, reducing workplace conflicts, and improving overall efficiency. The study will also address the structural challenges that impede the adoption of such a culture in public organisations compared to their private counterparts. The implications of the findings will provide insights for organisations seeking to enhance productivity through improved workplace behaviour and culture.
